About the Host...

About 1

........................Rick McKay

Rick McKay is a 20 year country music broadcast veteran who spent 10 of those years at Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s heritage country station WMIL FM*106. Rick grew up listening to country music and brings his wealth of knowledge about the songs and the artists to “Music City Memories” each week.

Rick McKay’s introduction to country music came as a youngster. Like in the Lionel Cartwright song, “I Heard it all on my Radio,” Rick would tune his transistor radio to WSM from Nashville and Charlie Douglas on WWL out of New Orleans listening to the top country hit makers of the day. He makes regular trips to Nashville conducting interviews with some of the top performers in the business. Artists like Eddie Arnold, John Conlee, Bill Anderson, Skeeter Davis, Barbara Mandrell, Emmy Lou Harris, Janie Fricke, Hank Thompson, Kitty Wells, and others have been interviewed by Rick McKay.
